for Important News

Febuary 1, 2023- Please bare with me as I am moving to another server...Again! It takes time to do so as
I have had a stroke but that does not effect my dogs!

Also, it takes time to relearn any new hosting server and set up the files!

Another Important Notice! (September 1, 2021)

On September 1, 2021 the UKC (United Kennel Club) has made the Acquisition of the FDSB effective Immediately. Such transition can be only noted on the American Fields web site by inspecting thier Logo and the official announcement can be seen in the link below!
FDSB - https://americanfield.villagesoup.com/p/official-announcement-regarding-american-field-publishing-company-and-the-united-kennel-club/1896670?fbclid=IwAR0sX7zOXlpU-TiE2RmL5HDsKOZehuvBuNG919R3ohtxvr_7UUUqYPKD6mM

According to the UKC (website) statement found on the (UKC's September 1,2021 sporting news) section:
https://www.ukcdogs.com/all-breed-sports-news
the transition will not effect the integrity of the Llewellin Setter status or name and we all can be assured of the continuation of the dogs prestige and registry in the years to come. As stated on the UKC web-site -

UKC: “We received several questions and concerns from the Llewellin Setter community. Find comfort in the fact that our intent is to continue to maintain the standards set forth by FDSB for the registration of Llewellin Setters. Dogs not verified through DNA profiles and in accordance with current registration rules and policies will not be brought into the registry as Llewellin Setters. In addition to Llewellin Setters, a few other breeds were previously recognized exclusively by either FDSB or UKC. It is our vision moving forward that the joining of our two registries will open doors to some new opportunities for several breeds that did not previously exist.”

Likewise, as the owner of Dickens Llewellin’s, I will still strive to maintain the standards of integrity in my Llewllin breeding practices as well as that based on the past FDSB rules and regulations. Keep in mind! Since the UKC acquisition is quite new (at the time of this notice) Dickens Llewellin’s will also be reviewing and restructuring as to incorporate any new policies and standards set forth or inherited by the UKC/FDSB transition as to maintain compliance and to continue the integrity of the Llewellin Lineage.

In saying and reporting all the above, as the transitions occurs (if any noticeable) please be aware that any claims made on the Dickens Llewellin web-site reflce that of the FDSB and does not include any new updates in regards to the UKC transition or policies at this time as they have yet to be established, announced, made public, intergrated or reviewed.
As with any new adjustments, it will take some time for any modifications and adjustments to become known and appear on my web-site.

Please be patient and understand it will be a new venture and transition for everyone.

Let Dickens Llewellin's Calculate a (Current, Past, or Futuer) Breeding or Whelp Date!

This should help many to remeber the dates of a breeding months later, or when too expect a litter of pups more closely too a due date.
It has seveal other advantages as well but I focused on the two above too keep it simple. But for simplicity; consider your female gave birth 12 days ago and you forgot the breeding date.

The whelping calculator clearly displays the "Past,Current,Future" Breedings and Whelpings for a Litter!
(A very close/accurate estimate only if you enter your breeds average term).

You only need to know ("internet search your Breed") how long your breeds prenancy cycle last before whelping..

Lets get started (3 easy steps)
Note: This page will not operate with Internet Explorer. Like me... it hates Microsoft!
************************************Start!************************************

Step 1
Select the average Term- (The expected total duration of the pregnancy) for your particualr breed/species of -female pet! In Days
Term:  <---Days (Default 60- Is an very close "+-2" Average Pregnancy-Term for many canines). It's best to research your breeds term!

Step 2
This is calculates based on the numeric value you chose in step 1 above.
Whelped On (The past birth and breeding!) This selection counts backwards to discover (estimate) the actual date your female was mated/impregnated. The breeding date!
Due On (A current-to-future birth!) This selection counts Forward days to discover (estimate) the future Birthing date for the litter.

Choose from one of the two options below!

Option 1:  Whelped On       Use This option/selection if the litter HAS alredy whelped/Birthed! Explain more! Selecting this Option (Calculates xx calander days backwards too the discover the actual (estimate) breeding date).
BOTH--- (Step 1 and Step 3) are used too help calculate the the past breeding date of the litter).

Step 3
Select the Breed or Whelp/Birth Date :
Date:  <---(click for calendar).

When finished, Choose calculate! The page will reload and the results are displayed below this message.

Finished!
See more about this page and instructions below!*

Welcome to my world!

I can truly say- I have not forgot! Surely, if so: That suggest that I actually remember that which I claimed to have forgotten!
But I am prone to Temporarily forgetting certain things, short or long term!

About the 3 Simple Steps!

All 3 steps Require an entry!

Step 1 is pre-set to 61 but you can change this from 50 up too 75.
Some different breeds of dogs carry for a longer or shorter term.

Step 2 has only one of the two slectable options .
Option 1- Whelped On, is for a litter of pups that has already Birthed/Whelp.
This selection can also work too calculate backwards to a unknown/unsure breeding date in the results.

Option 2- Matting Date- shows future Birthing/Whelping date when calculations are performed.
This selection will allow you too closely predict the future due date of a litter of pups.
Of course the predicted date is based on (Step 1) above and the actual date the female actually becomes impregnated!

(Important Note!
In step 2: Both Option 1 or 2 are calculated based on the number of Days you chose in Step 1. The date chosen in (Step 3) is also just as important as Step 1 needs a "count days" to either start the calculation forward or backwards.

Step 3- Whether its a Breeding Date or Whelping/Birth Date, you must choose from the calander the date based on your selection in (Stept 2).

When finished, Coose calculate! The page will reload/refresh and the results are displayed below the calculate button.
